In a report from Variety, the cast, as well as series creator Dan Harmon, will participate in a table read and Q&A to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts. Aside from Glover and Harmon, Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong will all be a part of the event.
Fans tuning in for the table read will be asked to donate to two charities: José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods. The charities are involved in COVID-19 relief efforts, providing meals to first responders working across the country.
The event will take place on Sony Pictures TV's Community YouTube page on Monday, May 18, at 2 pm pst. The table read will be shown in its entirety, along with the Q&A of fan questions. The cast will be reading "Cooperative Polygraphy," the fourth episode of Season 5, which first aired January 16, 2014 on NBC.
The table read marks the first time Glover has been a part of a Community event since leaving the show during its fifth season. In 2016, Glover addressed his departure from the series, and said he opted out of the final season because "I just like endings."
"I think everything should have death clauses in them. Humans have death clauses," he said at the time. "Thank God, one day Trump is going to die. That’s guaranteed. That’s awesome."
