Inspired by a sketch that he has done on The Eric André Show, the series is being described as "the biggest rap battle to ever hit the hip hop world," and "a hybrid of a rap battle and American Ninja Warrior — with Andre flair," according to Deadline.
Unlike The Eric André Show, which airs on Adult Swim (and is currently in production on its fiftth season), Rapper Warrior Ninja will be coming to Quibi. Quibi is a mobile video platform and is set to launch in North America on April 6, 2020.
Rapper Warrior Ninja is co-created and executive produced by Andre and Kitao Sakurai. It will be produced by Sick Duck.
Recently, André gave an update on the forthcoming fifth season of The Eric André Show.
"I waxed my entire body, got over 200 pounds, and slept in a tanning bed," the comedian told EW. "I also got a new, super expensive set that looks like Liberace f**ked a Japanese game show. This is the season of ultimate decadence."
In the three years since the last season, André released Eric André Does Paris and KRFT Punk's Political Party.
