Ziggy Marley, Brockhampton, and more are also performing.
April 22nd marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. In honor of the milestone, organizers are throwing a three-day rally for Earth Day 2020. The mission is to draw attention to the urgency of voting in November.
"Earth Day Live unfolds against a backdrop of crashing oil prices and job insecurity for oil and gas workers," organizers said in a statement. "[The rally] features the voices of indigenous leaders and youth climate activists on the frontlines of the climate justice movement who outline their vision for the recovery and future."
The rally kicked off on Wednesday, with a DJ set from Questlove to close out the day. Viewers can sign a petition to stop the money pipeline from banks, insurance companies, and other institutions that invest in climate destruction.
Flying Lotus will DJ a special set for the event. Aloe Blacc, Brockhampton, Ziggy Marley, and more will also perform this weekend. Events run from 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern time on the Earth Day Live website, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Twitch.
In addition to musicians, activists like the creators of the Green New Deal also appeared on Wednesday. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is also set to make an appearance at 5 PM on Friday. Find the full list of events on the Earth Day Live site. Seminars regarding wealth disparity, climate activism, and more will take place each day starting at 9 AM.
