"Pain Like I Never Felt": Freeway Shares the Tragic News of His Son's Death
Freeway shared the tragic news on Instagram on Thursday.
On Thursday morning, the legendary Roc-A-Fella MC Freeway shared the tragic news that his eldest son Jihadd, has passed away. The 19-year-old had began to follow in his father's footsteps, rapping under the name SnowHadd for the last few years.
"God knows I try my best to be strong," Freeway wrote, along with a picture of he and Jihadd at his high school graduation, "but this right here is a pain like I never felt. Please cherish your time and your [loved] ones because we're not [promised] the next breath. I pray Allah forgives my son for all of his sins and I pray Allah grants him the highest level of paradise. Ameen. Please make dua for him & my family."
SnowHadd's YouTube channel reveals that he'd been making music for over six years. He was a devoted member of Freeway's Freedom Thinkers Academy, an educational program with a music and health division dedicated to providing mentorship for Philadelphia's aspiring musicians via discussions, events, mentoring, and create-it-yourself workshops. Free launched the organization after his life-altering battle with kidney failure.
As of now, details are unclear about the nature of Jihadd's passing. Artists and associates like DJ Jazzy Jeff, Ebro Darden, Buckwild of Diggin' in the Crates Crew expressed their condolences in the comment section.
The news comes on the heels of the death of fellow Philadelphia MC Oschino's son. He and his pregnant mother were killed in a tragic car accident last week.
