Here's a First Look At the Upcoming 'Joker: Folie à Deux' Movie
Lady Gaga stars as Harley Qunn in the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux, a musical film that follows 2019's Joker.
Joker fans are getting a first look at Lady Gaga opposite Joaquin Phoenix in upcoming musicial film, Joker: Folie à Deux. Just in time for Valentine's Day on Tuesday (February 14), those in anticipation got a first look at Gaga, who plays Harley Quinn, romantically embracing Phoenix, who reprises his role as the titular villain. The upcoming Todd Phillips-directed musical sequel follows 2019's Joker, which earned Phoenix the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2020.
In June of last year, the 13-time Grammy-winning Lady Gaga was reportedly in talks to join the Warner Bros. Pictures franchise, later confirming her casting in August with an animated teaser. Along with the film's title, an official theatrical release date of October 4, 2024 was also shared.

In DC Comics, Harley Quinn (also known as Dr. Harleen Quinzel), become's Joker's longtime henchwoman and love interest after serving as the villain's psychiatrist at Gotham City's Arkham Asylum. Last playing Quinn was actress Margot Robbie in 2016's Suicide Squad, 2021's The Suicide Squad, along with 2020 spinoff Birds of Prey. The Australian actress has since given Gaga her blessing to step into the Harley Quinn role.
"It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor," Robbie told MTV News last October.
