Hip-Hop Sends Best Wishes as DJ Kay Slay is Hospitalized With COVID-19
Music executive Wack 100 has confirmed that DJ Kay Slay is currently on a ventilator after being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Legendary New York DJ and record executive DJ Kay Slay has been hospitalized with COVID-19 according to record executive Wack 100 on Instagram.
“Pray for my brotha @djkayslay It’s not looking good,” Wack 100 wrote. “He might be mad at me for this those that know Slay but he needs all the support he can get … Been 14 days fighting Covid and he’s just be put on a ventilator.”
Others rallied on social media in support of DJ Kay Slay with words of encouragement.
“Send strength @djkayslay. Love u bro," wrote LL Cool J in a separate post. The two collaborated on LL Cool J's 2008 mixtape The Return of the G.O.A.T.
HipHopDX reported that hip-hop promoter and producer Van Silk said that DJ Kay Slay hadn't been vaccinated, but also honored his friend through text.
“To my brother Kay Slay: I’ve known you since you were 15 years old... We done a lot together – from me helping you with Straight Stuntin magazine as the first editor to how the many DJs we put on during the mixtape era, and now working on the ‘Rolling Deep 200’ project. Brother, I love you and you gotta get well. You know how I was on your back about getting vaccinated.”
DJ Kay Slay's last release was The Soul Controller which came out in December. The album featured appearances by Snoop Dogg, Papoose, Busta Rhymes, Raekwon, and more.
