Just weeks after the commencement of its fourth season, HBO has announced Insecure will return for a follow-up.
According to Deadline, the fifth season of Issa Rae's breakout series is officially in the book. In a statement on behalf of the network, Amy Gravitt, HBO's EVP Programming, says "We’re thrilled that Issa, Prentice and the whole Insecure team will be getting back together for a fifth season." She adds, "As we laugh and cringe with recognition, their stories make us all feel a little less alone in the world."
The announcement arrives as the network gears up to launch the premium tier streamer, HBO Max, arriving May 26th with a massive slate of new and recently acquired programming. Meanwhile, the current season of Insecure moves forward tonight, airing a new episode at 10pm.
