Jamie Foxx is making a return to stand-up comedy this year.
During an interview with Michael Strahan at New York City's 92 Street Y center, the multi-talented entertainer announced that he would be embarking on a summer stand-up comedy tour called "I Got Stories," where he will recount various experiences he has had throughout his life in the comedy clubs he got his start in.
Foxx's last comedy special was 2003's Jamie Foxx Unleashed: Lost, Stolen and Leaked! Considering most comedians test out their material before filming a special hopefully, this forthcoming summer tour will lead to a new stand-up special for Foxx.
During the conversation, Foxx also stated that his dream acting role is to portray the iconic singer Marvin Gaye. The actor is serving as an executive producer for a limited series on the Motown singer, but it is unknown if Foxx will be contributing any of his acting skills to the forthcoming project.
Also, a biopic on the iconic boxer and athlete Mike Tyson, which Foxx is attached to, is still in the works. Several months back, while promoting his film Sleepless, Foxx was asked about the Tyson biopic and said that it "is a go" in response, while adding that both Tyson and famed director Martin Scorsese are attached to the project.
