Todd Phillips, the film's writer and director, has shared the final shoot screenplay for his smash origin story of The Clown Prince of Crime. Uploaded to Deadline, the script squares away most speculation over the whereabouts of Zazie Beetz's Sophie Dumond, a character for which many assumed the worst. Turns out, Sophie and her daughter survive their last pictured encounter with Joaquin Phoenix's budding supervillain. In a scene on page 78, Fleck leaves a note for Dumond before leaving her apartment, asking her to watch the Murray Franklin show. Later in the script, a deleted scene reveals a terrified Dumond looking on over Joker's horrific primetime debut. But at least we know she made it.
