Looks like the Get Out filmmaker is taking on the home invasion horror subgenre next.

Jordan Peele is tied to numerous projects. He's working on his own version of The Twilight Zone for CBS; contributing to the new Toy Story film alongside longtime collaborator and friend Keegan-Michael Key and is set to produce and co-write a remake of Candyman.

But he's also been busy working on the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed film Get Out, which is titled Us. Well, now the synopsis of the film has been revealed and he's also revealed a poster for the film.

According to a report from /Film, the film's storyline is as follows:

"A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o from 'Black Panther,' 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi,' and '12 Years a Slave') and a father (Winston Duke from 'Black Panther') take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss from TV series 'The Handmaid's Tale'). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited."

The site also notes that the movie has started test screening. Judging by the synopsis, Peele might be taking on the home invasion horror subgenre next. The plot details bring to mind 2008's The Strangers, the Bryan Bertino-directed horror film that finds a couple fighting for survival after their stay at a vacation family home gets interrupted by three masked intruders.

Peele has also said that he wants to follow-up Get Out with more "social thrillers," so it's likely that he'll tackle race and much more in this film like he did with Get Out.

Universal Pictures will release Us in theaters nationwide March 15, 2019.
