The capsule features three pieces — a hoodie, a longsleeve t-shirt, and a regular t-shirt — bearing the same image of the late Maya Angelou. Each piece also includes a quote that's on the back. The clothing brand also made a second longsleeve t-shirt, which was designed exclusively for the students of Maya Angelou High School. The school's 1500 students each got one.
The collaboration also includes a redesigned of the school's new logo which is a phoenix (a reference to Angelou's poems). The design will also be painted on the school's basketball court, as well as other locations, according to Highsnobiety.
"We're proud to announce that we've partnered with Branded Arts and Maya Angelou High School in South Los Angeles to redesign their school logo and donate an original Kith tee shirt for each of the 1500 students," KITH wrote on an Instagram post. "This is a proud moment for us as we strive to contribute to raising awareness for under-funded school art programs and inspire the youth to express themselves creatively. We deeply appreciate this opportunity and will seek to continue spreading this message."
100% of the proceeds from the capsule, which has already sold out, will be donated to the Maya Angelou High School.
