Marvel Studios To Release Book Explaining MCU's Complex Timeline
The upcoming book Marvel Studios: The Marvel Cinematic Universe An Official Timeline is set to publish next September.
The MCU is coming to a bookstore near you. On Friday (December 30), Marvel announced that upcoming 320-page book Marvel Studios: The Marvel Cinematic Universe, written by Anthony Breznican, Amy Ratcliffe and Rebecca Theodore-Vachon will release next September. Described as "the definitive, filmmaker-endorsed guide" to the MCU and its timeline, the book will retell more than the chronological order of the film series. A description for the book reads "Created in close collaboration with Marvel Studios, it will answer the biggest questions: what happened, when, where, and why."
A summary of the book shares that readers can expect to "follow the entire story of the MCU from before the Big Bang to the Blip and beyond. Along the way, learn more about the evolution of the Iron Man armors, the hunt for the Infinity Stones, and the formation of the Multiverse." Also featured with the encyclopedic book are "exclusive infographics, illuminating timelines, and amazing movie stills" for any movie buff.
The book comes after fans were met with confusion about Phase 4 of the MCU since 2019's Avengers: Endgame saw a five-year jump in the film series. The MCU was further complicated when the 'Multiverse Saga' was unveiled on Disney+, including shows Wandavision, Loki, Hawkeye and What If...?, all which attempt to extend across alternate timelines with superheroes own histories and a larger background of the Marvel multiverse.
The book is available for preorder now.
