Master P, Baron Davis in the Running to Buy Reebok
Master P has set his sights on an even bigger business deal.
Ever since his rise to prominence in the late 1990s, Master P has made a name as one of the savviest businessmen in hip-hop. During his No Limit label's heyday, he launched the P. Miller line of clothes and shoes. More recently, he launched a line of pancakes and syrup to rival brands like Aunt Jemima. In an interview with ESPN, Master P confirmed he has even bigger plans in mind.
P recently told ESPN NBA reporter Eric Woodyard that he and former NBA player Baron Davis are in talks to acquire Reebok from its parent company Adidas for $2.4 billion.
"These companies have been benefitting off us," P said. "This could be history for this company going Black-owned. Imagine if Michael Jordan owned Reebok? That's what I'm talking about making history."

Davis believes the brand is undervalued in the wider market.
"I left Nike as a 22-year-old kid representing myself and made the jump to Reebok," he said. "Which took a chance on me as a creative and as an athlete. I want the people I know athletes, influencers, designers, celebs to sit at the table with me."
Reebok has a history of working with musicians. Back in 2003, Jay-Z teamed up with the brand to drop the S. Carter shoe collection. The following year saw Reebok's American footwear sales grow by 17%. P and Davis hope to generate a similar amount of success due to becoming a black-owned business.
