Megan Thee Stallion is hoping for the law to be on her side. In a new Rolling Stone article, the rapper – who's currently in the middle of a criminal case involving Tory Lanez – spoke more about the July 2020 incident where Lanez allegedly shot her in the foot.
“I want him to go to jail,” Megan said. “I want him to go under the jail.”
“In her most detailed interview to date, Megan Thee Stallion talks about the aftermath of the July 2020 shooting, the disparagement she sometimes sees from trolls online, and her life now. https://t.co/KSJZJGASXS”— Rolling Stone (@Rolling Stone) 1655298290
The rapper added that the altercation has become mocked on social media through memes and criticism toward her.
“In some kind of way I became the villain,” she said. “And I don’t know if people don’t take it seriously because I seem strong. I wonder if it’s because of the way I look. Is it because I’m not light enough? Is it that I’m not white enough? Am I not the shape? The height? Because I’m not petite? Do I not seem like I’m worth being treated like a woman?”
Lanez has continued to refute Meg's claims, even referencing her in tweets. Meg later called out Lanez in a since-deleted Instagram Story for "putting out a narrative" that was untrue.
“Good D*ick had me fucking 2 best friends .... and I got caught 🤷🏾‍♂️ ... that’s what I apologized 4 . ... it’s sick how u Spun it tho ...”— Tory Lanez (@Tory Lanez) 1645646716
Meg last appeared on CBS Mornings in conversation with Gayle King to speak at length about the shooting.
“I feel like you’ve already tried to break me enough," Meg told Rolling Stone. You’ve already shot me. So, why are you dragging it out like this? Like, what else? Have you hated me this much the whole time and I didn’t see it?”
Meg added that the emotions that she's felt since the incident will be addressed in her forthcoming sophomore album, due to release this summer.
“I want to take you through so many different emotions,” she said. “At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.”
