As one of the first investors in Ring, a doorbell security company, Nas will now receive over $40 million now that the company has been acquired by Amazon for $1.2 billion, according to a report from webuyblack.com.

Ring describes itself as the following:

"Ring is committed to our mission to reduce crime in neighborhoods by providing effective yet affordable home security tools to our Neighbors that make a positive impact on our homes, our communities, and the world. We’ll be able to achieve even more by partnering with an inventive, customer-centric company like Amazon. We look forward to being a part of the Amazon team as we work toward our vision for safer neighborhoods."

As Dev Tribe noted, Nas and his business firm Queensbridge Venture Partners have invested in more than 40 companies including Coinbase, Genius, DoseDr, and many others.

Last month, a documentary on Nas performing his seminal debut album Illmatic with the National Symphony Orchestra was released on PBS. The performance, which originally took place in 2014 at the Kennedy Center, features the Queensbridge rapper performing notable tracks such as "One Love," as well as discussing his career as a rapper.
