Quavo and Saweetie Release Separate Statements Following Leaked Elevator Footage

In his statement following the incident, Quavo shares, "I haven't physically abused Saweetie."

Earlier this month, Bay Area MC Saweetie and Migos frontman Quavo confirmed that the two were no longer dating. On Tuesday, TMZ posted elevator footage of an altercation between the two in an apartment complex in North Hollywood. According to TMZ, this incident is from 2020.

On Thursday, Quavo shared the following with TMZ:

“We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall."

Saweetie also released a statement on the recorded altercation earlier this week.

"This unfortunate incident happened a year ago," she said. "While we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on."

At the beginning of the video, Saweetie can be seen throwing punches at Quavo, who responds by rushing into the elevator, dragging Saweetie into the car along with him. The two struggle over what TMZ describes as an orange Call of Duty case. Saweetie attempts to grab the case, and Quavo shoves her away. As she lies on the floor, Quavo stands over her. Eventually, Saweetie stands up and exits.

"I've endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character," she said on Twitter after the two split. "Presents don't band-aid scars and the love isn't real when the intimacy is given to other women. I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation."

"I don't normally put my business out there," Quavo responded on Twitter. "Especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives. I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best."

Stay tuned for further updates on the situation.
