Sony and Marvel have just released the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home — the third solo Spider-Man movie since the web slinger joined the MCU in 2015.
The movie follows up right where 2019's Far From Home left home. In that movie, Spider-man''s identity (spoiler alert: he's really Pater Parker) was revealed to the world by villain Mysterio.
In No Way Home, Parker tries to figure out a way to reverse what happened to him. So he asks Doctor Strange — who he teamed up with in Avengers Infinity War and Endgame — for help. It seems like Doctor Strange opens up the multiverse, causing all kinds of chaos, including battles with Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2 and the Green Goblin. It's been long rumored that the multiverse would be involved with this movie and that we would see appearances from previous Spider-mans — Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. (This trailer did not show off Maguire or Garfield.) If you remember, 2018's critically acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — which was not part of the MCU — explored this storyline already. (That movie also featured Miles Morales.)
The trailer for No Way Home was actually leaked over the weekend, with a very rough, iPhone-recorded video appearing on TikTok and Twitter. (We're sure someone will be losing their job over that one.)
Spider-Man: No Way Home comes out in theaters on December 17th. Check out the first trailer below.
