Terence Nance Posts First Look at Season 2 of 'Random Acts of Flyness'
The moving conceptual series Random Acts of Flyness is returning to HBO "soon."
The first season of Terence Nance's Random Acts of Flyness received rave reviews back in 2018. The series won a Peabody Award and held an 100 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. On Thursday, Nance released a brief preview of the series' second season, adding that the new season would simply be coming "soon." Stream the new trailer below.
In the trailer, a lovesick writer destroys an attempt at poetry and smokes a blunt before wandering about a spacious mansion. "Swimming in your skin again," he wrote before burning the draft, "Blinded by your elegance, it seems that I never win, even when you meet defeat." Sensing something is amiss, he wanders about and finds who we should assume is the long-lost subject of his writing.
Last June in honor of Juneteenth, HBO temporarily released all six episodes of Random Acts of Flyness for free on their YouTube channel. "It seems like everyday people ask me if and when Random Acts of Flyness will come back," Nance said in a statement. "I suspect their curiosity is due to the fact that Program I was born of conversations that were moving at light speed in 2018 and have orbited around an unquantifiable mass of violence."
"We asked HBO to let us post the show for free on YouTube and they granted our request," he concluded. "I hope it can be a part of the understanding, the reading, the feeling, the healing. I intend this on behalf of my ancestors, backward and forward in spacetime, Season II coming soon."
Stay tuned for further updates on the second season of Random Acts of Flyness.
