Thundercat Joins The 'Star Wars' Universe In Latest 'Book Of Boba Fett' Episode
Thundercat made his acting debut on the Disney+ Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett, appearing in "Chapter 4 - The Gathering Storm."
Dusting off his music video acting chops, Thundercat has brought his talents to the Star Wars universe. The bass wizard appeared in the latest episode of the Disney+ Star Wars spinoff series, The Book of Boba Fett, playing a body modification artist with a robot hand by the name of the Modifier.
Although Thundercat appears early in the episode his dialogue is brief, as he's focused on saving ruthless bounty hunter Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), who's brought to the Modifier by Boba Fett (Tamuera Morrison). Adding machine modifications to human bodies, The Modifier is part plastic surgeon and tattoo artist with a cyberpunk twist. While it's unknown how Thundercat linked with Star Wars, Stereogum pondered on frequent collaborator Donald Glover possibly landing him the role, as Glover played Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Since the episode's airing, a number of viewers have shared their reaction to Thundercat's surprise appearance on social media.

Thundercat hasn't yet spoken publicly about his Boba Fett appearance, but it's likely that he was alluding to the episode in a tweet yesterday dedicated to late friend Mac Miller (who would've turned 30).

Later this year, Thundercat will be serving as an opener on Red Hot Chili Peppers' world tour. The tour, which begins in June, will have the bass virtuoso opening on most of the dates. The tour will also include Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals and A$AP Rocky as openers on select dates.
