Tiffany Haddish Says She "Lost Everything" Over Child Sex Abuse Lawsuit

A woman and her younger brother dropped a lawsuit against Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears for clips filmed when the siblings were minors.

Comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears have been let off the hook after accusations of child sex abuse were made public earlier this month in a Daily Beast report. In the article, a woman claimed that her and her younger brother were subjected to sexually-charged sketch videos filmed when the two were minors, with Haddish — who knew the siblings' mother and was considered a family friend — participating in one of the videos.

On Tuesday (September 20), the woman known as “Jane Doe” who was representing herself and her brother in a case against the two comedians, filed a dismissal.

“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us," the sister said in a statement, according to TMZ. "We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us." As TMZ noted, although the statement doesn't say anything about Spears, he is also in the clear.

Filed on August 30 in a California federal court, the siblings' suit had claimed that they were 14 and 7 at the time of filming, and were paid to appear in promotional videos. The minors ultimately discovered that the filming was sexual in nature: in one video, the then-14-year-old girl was instructed to perform a sexual act on a sandwich, while her 7-year-old brother was filmed in compromising positions in a different sketch. Haddish played the boys mother while Spears played a "pedophile," with the boy being the object of his obsession.

Following The Daily Beast report, Haddish made an announcement on her Instagram saying that she "deeply regret" being in the  sketch.

“I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now,” Haddish wrote. “But clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all – and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it.”

While in LAX on Wednesday (September 21), Haddish told TMZ that she lost all her "gigs" because of the lawsuit.

“I lost everything,” she said. “All my gigs, gone. Everything, gone. I don’t have no job. I don’t have no job, bro.”
