Watch Dave Chappelle Relentlessly Interrupt a Michael Che Interview on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
Dave Chappelle couldn't help but hijack a Michael Che interview taking place in his home.
Michael Che learned the hard (and hilarious) way not to conduct interviews at Dave Chappelle's house last night.
The Weekend Update host and head writer of Saturday Night Live was a beamed-in guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where, based on the cavernous red-neon-lit backdrop, it should have been clear there was going to be at least one drop-in from the comedy legend. Instead, Chappelle posted up just outside of the frame to take every opportunity he could to color the interview in with a number of Chappelle-isms, random add-ons, and, of course, plugs for his podcast, The Midnight Miracle.
Between the outbursts, Che was able to get a few words out. The comedian discussed his new sketch show for HBO, That Damn Michael Che, his perceived rivalry with fellow Weekend Update anchor, Colin Jost, and his non-existent podcast, which is a thing, but only if you believe in it enough. Che, as it happens, is the latest guest on Chappelle's podcast with Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli, which has just released a third and fourth episode. According to Chappelle's recent Joe Rogan Experience visit, Midnight Miracle is slated to be pressed to vinyl in the months ahead, with two episodes per volume. However, a firm date has yet to be announced for the vinyl editions of the show. Stay tuned for updates on that front.
Chappelle is also releasing a documentary about his COVID comedy camp, which brought an all-star cast of musicians and stand-up comedians to his neighbor's cornfield in Yellow Springs, OH. The still-untitled film is set to close out this year's Tribeca Film Festival on June 19th.
