Even with a new Oscar nomination under his belt, Denzel Washingtonstill has time for New York culture. On the season four premiere of Desus & Mero, the legendary actor spoke about growing up in Mount Vernon and the Bronx, his Oscar-nominated film The Tragedy of Macbeth and lessons he's learned throughout his career.
“One of the most important lessons in life that you should know is to remember to have an attitude of gratitude, of humility, understand where the gift comes from. “It’s not mine, it’s been given to me by the grace of God. Use what I have, use what you have, to help others,” he said.
While it appeared that Desus and Mero were slightly fangirling over Washington's presence, the actor left the show with a word that practically sums up his nearly five-decade long career: Blessed.
