Keanu Reeves is back in John Wick mode. On Thursday (November 10), Lionsgate released the first trailer for upcoming action film John Wick: Chapter 4, which will be the longest in the franchise, rumored to be in a two-and-a-half hour runtime. Directed by Chad Stahelski, the movie releases March 23, 2023.
In a recent interview with Collider, Stahelski claimed that he watched the final cut of Chapter 4 "close to 100 times," confirming that fans can expect it to be the best John Wick film to date.
"Other than my other misgivings of choices, and scenes, and writing all that stuff, I feel pretty good about it," he said. "Keanu [Reeves] and I, and the really tight circle that I have around us, we've watched, every week. We have a little group. “Let's just watch it one more time to make sure we're not talking ourselves into something.”
In the film, Reeves goes around the world for fight-to-the-death duels, joined by co-stars Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Rina Sawayama, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown. Here's the official synopsis:
"John Wick (Keanu Reeves) takes on his most lethal adversaries yet in the upcoming fourth installment of the series. With the price on his head ever increasing, Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Osaka to Berlin."
The John Wick series will soon branch off into film spinoff Ballerina starring Ana de Armas, and prequel mini-series The Continental.
