Watch the Teaser for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem'

The iconic sewer heroes are being reintroduced in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which releases August 4.

America's favorite Turtle brothers are back in action with upcoming animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. A first teaser for the Paramount Pictures film has released, with voice actors Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon as Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael, respectively. Also in the cast are Seth Rogan as producer and character Bebop, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Jackie Chan as Master Splinter, Ice Cube as Superfly, and more.

"We are beyond thrilled by this world-class cast we've assembled to bring these iconic, beloved characters to life in a new chapter of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe," Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount and Nickelodeon Animation, said in a statement about the Jeff Rowe-directed film. "This really sets a new bar for this globally celebrated franchise, and we can't wait to show audiences this film."

Here's the synopsis per Deadline: After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

The original TMNT was created as a comic book series in 1984 by by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman, later becoming a hit animated series in the 1980s followed by a live-action series in the 1990s. The franchise has boasted theatrical releases from filmmakers Steve Barron, Michael Pressman, and Michael Bay.
