Watch Thor & Jane Reunite in the New 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Trailer

The first full trailer for upcoming Marvel Studios film Thor: Love and Thunder has arrived, introducing supervillain Gorr the God Butcher.

We're nearly a month away from July 8th, which means Thor: Love and Thunder is almost here. During the Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals last night, the first full trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios film aired. Love and Thunder, which serves as the sequel to 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok will introduce new supervillain Gorr The God Butcher played by an unrecognizable Christian Bale.

“The only thing gods care about is themselves,” Gorr says in the trailer. “So this is my vow: All gods will die.”

Liam Hemsworth will continue to wield his hammer as Thor while Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman reprises her role as scientist Jane Foster.

During a recent interview with Empire, Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi discussed reintroducing Jane Foster to Marvel fans.

“I didn’t know we were going to use the storyline of the ‘Mighty Thor’ character until we started working out the actual story,” Waititi said. “I was writing and it was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be kind of cool to bring Jane back into the storyline?’”

Waititi added that fans can expect to see a different Foster from the character last seen in 2013's The Dark World.

“You don’t want Natalie coming back and playing that same character who’s walking around with science equipment,” Waititi said. “You know, while Thor’s flying around, she’s left on Earth, tapping her foot going, ‘When’s he going to be back?’ That’s boring. You want her to be part of the adventure.”

Thor: Love and Thunder premieres in theaters July 8th.
