Will Smith Speaking on a 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' Revival: "I’d Have to Be Uncle Phil"

Would you be excited to watch a rebooted Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?

Back in March, actor Alfonso Ribeiro, best known for playing Carlton Banks on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, posted a new picture of the cast on his Instagram. It was the first time the cast reunited in public since the show ended more than 20 years ago. (Sans Uncle Phil actor James Avery, who died in 2013.)

The photo left fans wondering: What is the status of a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air revival? Will Smith talked about the prospects in a new interview on The Graham Norton Show. It doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

When asked about a reboot, Smith joked:

“I’d have to be Uncle Phil in that one. I’m about to be 50, you know. Like, ‘Come on Aunt Viv, I’m 50, I can’t go out on my own?"

After that comment, Norton showed Smith the video of him bungee jumping, freezing at the exact moment where he looked like Uncle Phil.

Smith also talked a little about how he experiences the show now. The actor claims that it's a tough watch:

“It was my very first role, and I was very, very focused on being successful, so I learned the whole script and everyone else’s lines...If you watch the first four or five episodes, you can see I’m mouthing other people’s lines. It’s terrible and I can’t bear to watch it."
