Joey Bada$$ Won't Return As Inspectah Deck In 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' Season Two
Joey Bada$$ portrayed Inspectah Deck in three episodes from the first season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga has recast Inspectah Deck for its highly-anticipated second season. In a report from Deadline, actor Uyoata Udi will now portray the Wu-Tang Clan rapper, who was initially played by Joey Bada$$ in the show's first season. The report doesn't offer any details on why Joey won't be returning. Prior to his upcoming appearance in American Saga, Udi appeared in HBO's Watchmen TV series, as well as This Is Us.
RZA, who created the series alongside Alex Tse, has offered some details on what to expect in An American Saga's second season, saying that it'll focus on the recording of the group's seminal debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
“I think one big thing is that in season we rarely touched into the recording of 36 Chambers…there are certain things that happened in that studio that are hilarious, that’s the caption of our youth, and also that’s iconic,” RZA said in a previous interview with Rolling Stone, while adding that certain topics like how Method Man got his name will be addressed, too.
“This season is gonna be even more unpredictable but layered into the fun of what 36 Chambers mean to so many people around the world,” he said.
He also previously revealed that U-God would be appearing in the second season, too.
