Here’s When ‘Futurama’ Soars Back to TV Screens

After a 10-year hiatus, beloved animated sitcom Futurama comes back with new a new season on Hulu, July 24.

The Futurama reboot has an official release date and a new home. According to Variety, the former Fox and Comedy Central animated sitcom will have a July 24 premiere on Hulu. With 10 episodes in total, episodes from the new season will be available to stream every Monday. The series has been brought back for 20 episodes, but it seems that the remaining 10 will be a part of season 12.

The show, created in 1999 by Matt Groening (The Simpsons), originally aired for four seasons on Fox before joining the Adult Swim lineup. It was later brought to Comedy Central in 2008, where it remained before its end in 2013. Original voice actors from the show included Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, David Herman and John DiMaggio, who confirmed in 2022 that he’ll appear in the reboot.

Also in an Entertainment Weekly article from last September, late rapper and actor Coolio recorded dialogue and new music for the reboot, as he played KwanzaaBott in the original show.

Meanwhile there’s a whole new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV.”
