Jordan Peele Is Co-Developing A ‘Coyotes’ Series Adaptation
A new report claims that Jordan Peele and Selena Gomez are co-developing a series adaptation of Sean Lewis graphic novels Coyotes for Prime Video.
Filmmaker, comedian and actor Jordan Peele has returned to television. The 44-year-old is reportedly co-developing a new Prime Video series based on Sean Lewis-authored graphic novels Coyotes. The upcoming project will also be executive produced by actress and pop vocalist Selena Gomez, who last acted in Hulu mystery comedy-drama Only Murders in the Building.
According to FilmUpdates.net, Coyotes “is set in City of Lost Girls, a border town in the desert where women are mysteriously going missing.” “Officer Frank Coffey is trying to get to the bottom of this when he meets Red, a little girl with a katana blade and a mission: murder the Werewolves stalking the border picking women off one by one,” the explainer continues. “When it’s discovered that the Wolves are the men of these villages, both Red and Officer Coffey are thrown together in a thriller of mythic proportions with the lives of their friends and loved ones in the balance.”
Coyotes will make Peele’s latest produced effort since CBS’ The Twilight Zone and HBO’s Lovecraft Country, both of which will not return for additional seasons. Peele’s third directorial film, Nope, released last year and he’s currently underway with his fourth feature, scheduled to release on December 25, 2024.
Also in 2022, Peele co-wrote and executive produced Netflix animated horror-comedy Wendell & Wild, where he played Wild, while his longtime comedy partner, Keegan-Michael Key, played Wendell. Peele is also attached as producer on an upcoming remake of 1991 horror-comedy The People Under the Stairs and supernatural film Sinkhole, led by Issa Rae.
