Mirroring the hulking stature of the subsequent pair (and released almost a year to the day from the previous installment,) Zion III stands a towering 42-tracks tall and features the North Carolinian producer's expert chops of both obscure and familiar soul catalogs. It follows the 2018 release of a collaborative project with Black Thought (Streams of Thought Vol. 1) and the Jamla compilation, Jamla is The Squad II, featuring contributions from the full imprint's roster along with The Roots frontman, JID, J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Busta Rhymes, and more.

Earlier this year, 9th confirmed that he had finished another collaborative album with Smif-n-Wessun and was chosen to assist Q-Tip's curatorial services at The Kennedy Center, serving alongside Questlove, Robert Glasper, Bobbito Garcia, and a mile-long list of luminaries in Tip's "Hip-Hop Culture Council."
