A$AP Rocky Shows Off Leading Lady Rihanna In "D.M.B."

On Thursday, A$AP Rocky debuted his video for "D.M.B.", also starring Rihanna, who's currently pregnant with the couple's first child.

It's Rakim and Rihanna against the world. On Thursday, A$AP Rocky premiered his new video for "D.M.B." co-starring Rihanna, who's currently expecting the couple's first child. With the song's visual written, directed and executive-produced by Rocky, "D.M.B." includes production from Rocky, Skepta, Shlohmo, Hector Delgado, Kelvin Krash and D33J.

Filmed prior to Rihanna's pregnancy, the trippy visual follows the couple in romantic bliss while venturing through New York City, where they dine lavishly and drink rosé on a building's fire escape. Later in the visual, Rocky is seen briefly serving jail time, where he's frequently visited by Rihanna, ultimately being greeted by her upon release and the two get hitched. Rather than hosting a traditional wedding, Rih is seen donning a red veil, while Rocky flaunts gold grills with a "Marry Me?" proposal. With the same idea in mind, Rih shows smaller platinum fronts with an “I do" response.

The visual is timely, as Rocky was recently released on bond after being arrested last month at Los Angeles International Airport in connection with a shooting in November. The rapper was returning from Barbados where he and Rihanna were visiting family and friends.

In a recent Vogue profile, Rihanna shared that she and Rocky became a couple during lockdown after being friends for nearly a decade. “I love the simple things but also the grand adventures,” she said. “There’s no pretentious my-brand-your-brand b*******, it’s just us living. I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side.”

"D.M.B." is Rocky's most recent solo single, last releasing "Babushka Boi" in 2019. His last solo album, Testing, was released in 2017, while collaborative ASAP Mob album Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy was released in the same year.
