"That was one of the saddest shows of my life," the Oxnard artist said of the 2016 performance.
Anderson .Paak is the latest guest on Complex and First We Feast's long-running online series Hot Ones, and ahead of the full episode coming out Thursday, an exclusive clip has been released where the drummer recounts opening for Beyoncé at Los Angeles' Dodgers Stadium in 2016.
"That show was a trainwreck for me. That was one of the saddest shows of my life," .Paak recalled. "We killed the soundcheck... Shoutout to all my bands that kill the soundcheck and then take a fat shit the night of the show."

.Paak goes on to explain how his keyboardist's rig fell apart onstage, resulting in feedback and a very, very short set.
"Our 15, 10 minutes was done," he said. To add to the moment even more, as .Paak was walking onstage he ran into Jay-Z, where the two had a very brief exchange.
"Right when I was going back to my dressing room I remember seeing Jay-Z and he just turned around — "What's up, it's the roc" — and just dipped.
.Paak recently dropped a new song featuring Kendrick Lamar called "Tints." Aside from getting ready for his new album Oxnard, .Paak has been making guest appearances at Robert Glasper's Blue Note residency in New York City.
