Anderson .Paak Pays Homage to His Friend Mac Miller on the Celebratory Track "Cheers"
The Californian musician honors the late rapper.
Anderson .Paak released his fourth studio album Oxnardon Friday (Nov 16th). The long awaited album includes the Q-Tip featured track "Cheers," which is a tribute to the late Mac Miller.

The song is meant to be celebratory while warning of the dangers that come with success and fame. Anderson references Mac on the first verse:
Wishin’ I still had Mac wit’ me / How do you tell a nigga slow it down when you livin’ just as fast as him?

Anderson, who collaborated with Mac Miller on the song "Dang!," paid homage to his friend through several tributes.
At the BET Hip-Hop Awards, he called Miller a "legend" and spoke on his legacy:
Legends never die and Mac Miller not was but is a whole legend...Mac Miller was a humble rock star, he was a rapper’s rapper, he was an actor, a comedian, a musical genius, a heartthrob. Mac Miller was a brother, he was my friend. I loved him and I still love him.
