Ari Lennox and Queen Naija Catch A Cheater in the "Set Him Up" Video
Ari Lennox and Queen Naija feed off of one another's energy on their latest single. The track is set to appear on Queen Naija's deluxe edition of her debut album.
A week after dropping their new single, Ari Lennox and Queen Naija have released the official video for "Set Him Up." Watch the steamy new video below.
Lennox and Queen Naija previously teased the single days before via social media.
“Set Him Up” is a vibe, it’s packed with sexually charged lyrics, a pleasing chorus, and overall it's an enjoyable listen. Long story short, both singers are singing about the same person so they decide to meet up with him at the same time. This happens after they realize the person they’re both captivated by has been lying to them both. The video brings another dimension to the chaotic love triangle. Once the duo put two and two together, Najia and Ari smoothly exact justice on the offender.
On the single, Queen Naija says, “I had so much fun recording this song with Ari! We started recording it a while back and I’m excited we were able to come together and get it finished.” She added, “I know a lot of women who have actually realized they’re dating the same guy. We thought ‘Set Him Up’ would provide a fun take on this crazy kind of situation!”
On Friday, Queen Najia will release the deluxe version of her debut album misunderstood… still. Five bonus tracks arrive in addition to “Set Him Up." There will be appearances by Wale on (“Butterflies Pt. 2”) and J.I The Prince of NY on (“Love Is…”).
As for Ari Lennox and what she’s been up to, she recently shared a set of images alongside singer/songwriter and producer DJ Camper. We’re excited to see she’s back in the studio in 2021, especially since fans are anticipating her follow-up to her debut Shea Butter Baby. Also, she's been dropping tiny hints here and there that she's recording on social media (we're paying attention to all the sneaky hints).
In February, Ari appeared on Lucky Daye’s Table For Two EP on “Access Denied.” Over the past few months, she has dropped “Chocolate Pomegranate,” a sensual single, and “Grounded,” an easygoing loosie. Here’s to hoping that she blesses us with a full-length album before summer sets in.
