Big Boi Cast as Berry Gordy in Upcoming Bobby DeBarge Biopic
The Bobby DeBarge Story lands its Hitsville mogul
Big Boi is extending his acting resumé. The OutKast co-founder has been cast as legendary Motown chief, Berry Gordy, in an upcoming biopic treatment of singer Bobby DeBarge's life.
According to Broadway World, The Bobby DeBarge Story is a chronicle of the Switch singer's rise and drug-addled decline as a Motown mainstay, leading the group, but also contributing to the family band upon the departure of siblings, El and Bunny.

Big Boi joins Roshon Fegan, who will portray DeBarge in a film directed by Russ Parr and written by Norman Vance, Jr. (Roll Bounce, The Soul Train Awards, and Moesha.) It follows a recent appearance in Director X's Superfly reboot, as well as Baby Driver, The Quad, and HBO's animated series, Animals.
