Black Thought Announces 'Streams of Thought, Vol. 3' Release Date

The new Black Thought project had been postponed beforehand.

Back in late July, Black Thought was set to release the third chapter in his Streams of Thought series. However, after the shocking death of former The Roots member Malik B., the project was indefinitely pushed back. On Tuesday, Thought announced that the project would finally be available on Friday, October 16.

"Thank you for your patience," he wrote on Instagram. "The wait is over. Let's go!"

In recent months, Thought has kept fans satiated before the new project. He premiered the powerful "Thought vs. Everybody" during an NPR Tiny Desk concert, appeared on the new Westside Gunn album, British singer Liam Bailey's "Champion" remix, and also dropped "Good Morning," featuring Pusha-T, Killer Mike and Swizz Beatz.

"It is a reintroduction," he said of the track. "It speaks to an awakening...the level of dimension and different energy you get in one densely packed moment is unprecedented for the Roots and Black Thought up to this point...on any given day, the space that I occupy in the world is somewhere between a Killer Mike and a Pusha T," he said in an interview with Variety. "Between an activist and a street hero, a man of the people and a man of the streets--that's my origin story. I feel like both of their energies represent my own creative bipolarity. It's always good, too, to be seen in the same light as my peers."

Streams of Thought, Vol. 3 will feature names like Schoolboy Q, The Last Artful Dodger, Portugal. the Man, and C.S. Armstrong. Stay tuned for further updates on new Black Thought material.
