Carl Crawford Apologizes for Rift With Megan Thee Stallion

While announcing the new president of 1501 Certified Entertainment, Carl Crawford appeared on TMZ to apologize to Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion has gotten an apology from Carl Crawford, former MLB player and president of 1501 Certified Entertainment. While introducing Kai “Verse” Tayler as the new president of the Houston record label on TMZ Hip-Hop, Crawford revealed his plans to make amends with the 'H-Town Hottie.'

“Unfortunately, me and Megan haven’t talked since 2019,” Crawford said. “We been going through what y’all seen online. That’s unfortunate too because I never wanted to go have a situation where I was going back nad forth with her on the Internet.”

He added, “I never had problems with Megan Thee Stallion, but this social media stuff turned it really sour. You take this social media stuff out of it, and we won’t have a problem. You won’t hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name unless it’s a big-time interview.”

Crawford also mentioned his April 2022 meetup with Tory Lanez in a nightclub, admitting that the move was "petty."

“I normally don’t do stuff like that. I think I just got wrapped up in the whole scheme of things that was going on. We all make mistakes. I’m not on nobody’s side with that. I was just… I don’t even know," he said.

Crawford shared that to take ownership of his legal battle with Meg, he's revamping the 1501 roster and staff, adding Tayler as a new member of the company. Crawford and the Traumazine artist have been at odds since 2019, the same year that Meg signed a management deal with Roc Nation, which 1501 claims to have been unaware of.

Months later, Meg filed a lawsuit against 1501, claiming that the label was preventing her from releasing new music and refusing to renegotiate her contract. In February 2022, the artist filed another lawsuit against 1501, asking a Texas judge to qualify her 2021 project, Something for the Hotties, as a project to count towards fulfilling her contract. 1501 countersued the following month, calling the project a "mixtape" with previously-recorded material. Meg has continued to bash the label publicly, claiming that they've attempted to "take advantage" of her.
