On Tuesday, Universal Music Enterprises released a 23-track Cash Money Records instrumental album to digital streaming platforms. The release comes just days after Cash Money superproducer Mannie Fresh squared off against the Grammy-nominated Scott Storch.
The album features standout beats from Juvenile's 400 Degreez, Big Tymerz' Hood Rich, and B.G.'s Chopper City in the Ghetto. View the full tracklist below.
2018 marked the 20th anniversary of Cash Money's $30 million pressing and distribution deal with Universal. Bryan "Birdman" Williams and his brother Ronald "Slim" Williams formed the label in 1992. By 1998, the label's roster: B.G., Juvenile, Turk, and Lil' Wayne built their profile underground for the previous two years. According to Forbes, the label has sold over 130 million album sales and gross revenue of $1.8 billion in its 28-year existence.
Cash Money's deal with Universal gave its founders 85 percent of its royalties and half of its publishing revenue. Baby and Slim also retained ownership of all its masters. After the label's eldest acts left the fold in the mid-2000s, the Williams brothers named Lil' Wayne president of the label and CEO of Young Money Entertainment. He would later sign Drake and Nicki Minaj. Along with Wayne, the label earned a combined 78 Grammy nominations.
