The renaissance man claims "Awaken, My Love!" to be his penultimate album
This past Saturday, Donald Glover's Governor's Ball performance proved to the only non-Roots Picnic journey worthy of your envy. An increasingly rare appearance as Childish Gambino was capped off with a hint that it could soon be the end of the road for Glover's beloved (though critically-tormented) musical persona.
Childish Gambino's Producer, Ludwig Göransson, Breaks Down The Creation of "Redbone"
Closing with the crowd favorite (now certified platinum) "Redbone," Bino and the band get busy on the Bootsy-channeling ballad, charismatically gripping the mic to inform the crowd that he'd "see you for the last Gambino album." Earlier in the show, he dedicated a performance of "Baby Boy" to his son, Legend (whose name had yet to be revealed.) Governor's Ball was Glover's first performance of the album since a New Years Day show in Australia and The PHAROS event at which "Awaken, My Love!" was debuted. The album is currently available on virtual reality vinyl and can be purchased via The Shop below.
