Da Brat & Her Wife Are Expecting Their First Child Together
Da Brat and her wife, Jesseca "Judy" Harris-Dupart, have revealed to People that they're expecting their first child together.
Da Brat and her wife, Jesseca "Judy" Harris-Dupart are expecting a baby. On Tuesday (February 21), the legendary So So Def artist, 48, revealed to People that she's carrying the couple's upcoming delivery.
"I never thought I was going to have kids," Da Brat, legal name Shawntae Harris-Dupart, told People. "I just thought it wasn't in the cards for me. I've had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn't get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn't going to happen for me."

The rapper shared that she began wanting to extend her family after meeting her wife, who she married last February.
"I started looking at life so differently," she added. "I was like, I want a little me with you. Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally."
The couple both faced health complications, with Da Brat's wife having issues after an egg retrieval procedure. The rapper would also undergo surgery to remove fibroids and polyps prior to an embryo transfer procedure, later facing a miscarriage.
"I had never been so excited about something that I didn't even know I wanted," she said. "I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me."
But since the couple still had "a few of her eggs left," they chose an anonymous donor described as an "an eager entrepreneur" from their cryro bank. Da Brat, now in her second trimester, is 18 weeks pregnant.
The rapper, who co-hosts the The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and Dish Nation, co-stars with her wife on their WEtv reality series, Brat Loves Judy.
