Watch DaBaby Do a Melody of Hits During the 2020 MTV VMAs

DaBaby performed three songs from his standout BLAME IT ON BABY album.

DaBaby has a song of the summer candidate with his Roddy Ricch collaboration" Rockstar." So it was only right that the DaBaby would have a slot at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.

Of course, the rapper performed "Rockstar, which has held the number 1 slot on the Hot 100 for several weeks. But he also performed two other songs: "PEEP HOLE" and "Blind," which both appeared on his BLAME IT ON BABY album that dropped earlier in the year.

For this performance, DaBaby had a number of tricks up his sleeve: he performed in front of a green screen, so there were a bunch of snazzy effects (like a burning city). He was also joined by the hip-hop dance crew Jabbawockeez. If you remember, the Jabbawockeez appeared in DaBaby's excellent  "BOP On Broadway” video that dropped last year.

We should add that DaBaby isn't only performing at the Video Music Awards. He's up for a number of awards, including Artist of the Year, Best Hip-Hop, Song of the Summer, Best Cinematography, and Best Choreography.

Before Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP" took over the world, DaBaby's "Rock Star" was running the charts. The song spent seven non-consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was Da Baby's first number one record and the second for Roddy Ricch, who first topped the charts with his breakout smash "The Box."
