During the Billboard Music Awards 2022 on Sunday, Diddy announced "Replay" singer Jozzy as the first act on new R&B label Love Records.
Introducing Love Records. During the Billboard Music Awards 2022 on Sunday, rapper, entrepreneur and Bad Boy Records founder Diddy announced that he's signed Memphis vocalist Jozzy as part of his new R&B label Love Records.
“We are coming to you live from Club Love,” Diddy told the audience. “I’m so excited to do this right here. She is the first artist that I signed to Love Records. She’s one of the most talented songwriters and artists I have ever worked with. She reminds me of R&B Biggie. That’s a lot, right? Now it’s her time. Show some love to Jozzy!”
During the show, Jozzy performed her new single "Replay" which is slated to appear on her upcoming EP later this year. The 31-year-old vocalist later went to Twitter to share her post-Billboard Awards delight.
Although the vocalist is embarking on her solo career, Jozzy has penned songs for artists such as Mary J. Blige, Summer Walker, Pharrell Williams and even assisted with Billy Ray Cyrus' verse on the "Old Town Road" remix.
Launching Love Records in partnership with Motown Records, Diddy is also planning to release his first solo album since his 2006 effort Press Play.
“Music has always been my first love,” he said in a statement earlier this month. “Love Records is the next chapter is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life. For the label, I’m focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”
