A week after its surprise unveiling, Donald Glover has officially released the new album, 3.15.20.
Initially landing on his website on a continuous loop for 24 hours last weekend, the album made the move to streamers early this morning. Standing 12-tracks tall, the project features contributions from Ariana Grande and 21 Savage, as well as extensive production from longtime collaborator Ludwig Goransson and DJ Dahi. The album also hosts the tracks "Time" and "Algorhythm," which were originally offered as direct downloads for those who purchased tickets to the This is America tour last summer.
The album arrives as a suitable placeholder for the third season of Atlanta, the production of which has been postponed (along with virtually any incoming TV or movie title in the pipeline,) due to the coronavirus outbreak. 3.15.20 also serves as the follow-up to Glover's 2016 album, "Awaken, My Love!," which was nominated for five Grammys in 2017. The single "Redbone" took home the award for "Best Traditional R&B Performance" that year.
