Earl Sweatshirt, Burna Boy, The Roots & More to Perform at AFROPUNK 2022
Returning to Brooklyn from September 10-11, AFROPUNK 2022 will feature Earl Sweatshirt, Burna Boy, The Roots Freddie Gibbs and more.
AFROPUNK 2022 is touching down in Brooklyn this summer. From September 10-11, the Black arts festival makes its return to Commodore Barry Park since last being held in-person in 2019, bringing a constellation of artists including Earl Sweatshirt, The Roots, Burna Boy, Isaiah Rashad and others. In the last two years, the festival has taken place virtually, the 2021 festival being headlined by Rico Nasty.
On the first evening, The Roots will headline to celebrate their 30-year anniversary as a band. After being the first Nigerian artist to sell out Madison Square Garden in April, Burna Boy will perform on night two and is expected to perform selections from his upcoming album Love, Damini which will release in July. Freddie Gibbs, who turns 40 today, wrapped up his Space Rabbit Tour earlier this month.

The festival is set to host various of activations including Spinthrift Market a shop that will feature makers, selectors and curators from the New York area, while AFROPUNK’s Bites ‘n Beats will offer an assortment of cuisines from NYC chefs and local food trucks.
Also on the bill are Lucky Daye, Pink Siifu, Freddie Gibbs, Tierra Whack, Adekunle Gold, SPINALL, Mick Jenkins, Fana Hues, BbyMutha, Bartees Strange and more.
Tickets for AFROPUNK go on sale Friday, June 17 at 10 AM ET, with Citi Cardmembers having access to an exclusive presale starting Thursday, June 16 at 10 AM ET. Guests can also sign up for the AFROPUNK Community Presale here.
