Frank Ocean Gives Rare Interview, Provides Clues on What to Expect From Upcoming New Music
Frank also talked about working with A$AP Rocky, his interest in swimming, and how Keanu Reeves in The Devil's Advocate influences his style.
Frank Ocean doesn't often talk. So, when he does, it's a story. Frank appeared on the cover of W Magazine, where he gave a rare interview to the publication. Frank gave some updates on his life and current interest in music — but very few firm details about upcoming music. (Frank Ocean hasn't released an album since 2016, who dropped Endless andBlonde back to back.

In talking about what he is interested in musically, right now, Frank said:
I’ve been interested in club, and the many different iterations of nightlife for music and songs. And so the things I look at now have a lot to do with those scenes: Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic.
When asked if planned on staying independent or if he would sign a deal with a major, Frank said:
I’ve been independent since 2016. So I plan on keeping it that way for a while. I’ve got amazing credit, so if I need a loan, I’ll go to a bank.

Frank also gave a hint, content-wise, on where he wants to go. Basically, Frank said he's more interested in lies than being vulnerable again:
In order for me to satisfy expectations, there needs to be an outpouring of my heart or my experiences in a very truthful, vulnerable way. I’m more interested in lies than that. Like, give me a full motion-picture fantasy.
