Could A Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist Project Be on the Way?

Speculation on social media may have blown the surprise.

Freddie Gibbs hasn't released a full-length project since last summer's critically-acclaimed Bandana. However, that could be changing soon.

For years, the two teased projects together. As early as 2010, Gibbs spoke at length about The Devil's Palace. However, for unconfirmed reasons, the project never arrived.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Gary, Indiana MC simply tweeted "Tomorrow at 9 AM PST, 12 PM EST." The announcement came with no further details besides a plethora of pasta emojis. Is it a full project? A new single? Nobody knows.

Shortly afterward, however, Twitter user @JefesVault dropped a thread with some convincing evidence. Using a clip from an old video posted to Gibbs' Instagram story, the user matched the audio using the Shazam app. In the video, Gibbs is previewing a soon-to-be-released song. @JefesVault noted that the previously-unnamed song is now verified on Shazam as "Scottie Beam," by Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist featuring Rick Ross.

Further down in the thread, the Shazam app confirms three more tracks. "Frank Lucas," featuring Benny the Butcher, and "Babies and Fools," featuring Conway the Machine. The Shazam app now confirms an in-studio clip Gibbs posted back in January as the track "1985."

Stay tuned for further updates. By the looks of things, tomorrow will bring a fresh release from two of the best in the game.
