Flex and Cardi B are in the middle of a back-and-forth

Legendary DJ Funkmaster Flex has been very critical of superstar rapper Cardi B. Back in April, Flex openly griped about Cardi not writing her own rhymes. Then, in July, Flex called out Cardi for calling herself the "King of New York," writing on Twitter:

Now Flex is going at Cardi B again. Leveluphiphop_ posted a video of Cardi B talking about all the love and support she got since she's released "Bodak Yellow:"

Funkmaster Flex, who loves IG, popped up in the comments and added his 2 cents. He accused the rapper of paying DJs to get her music played.

Basically, he said Cardi used payola to get to the top. Here's what Flex wrote:

I think Cardi is a great entertainer and has great songs! I gave my opinion when she said she was “King of NY” and when I found out she didn’t write her own songs! I met Cardi and her management and I respected his and Cardi’s hustle! BUT LETS BE CLEAR.. CARDI’S TEAM AND MANY OTHER ARTIST (in the beginning of career) PAY DJS TO PLAY RECORDS AND SAY THAT “THEY ARE HOT” (Since I never took a penny from a rapper I’m not scared to speak on it) I have emails I’ve gotten from labels over the years with names and figures!

In other news, Cardi is still getting wins. It just has been announced that Cardi will appear at the MTV Video Music Awards.
