"Can we kick it?" Chappelle asked after acknowledging the members of the prolific hip-hop group: Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White.
Late last year Q-Tip took to Instagram to voice his frustrations with the fact that A Tribe Called Quest's final album, We Got It From Here, was omitted from Grammy nominations.
"F**k da grammys!!!" Q-Tip said in a string of videos. "We were the most black, cultured group out. That's all we stood on. That's what we represented, This last Tribe album, this stands with everyone else's s**t that's up there. I don't give a f**k."
