Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter V' Debuts Number One on the Billboard Charts

Update: Lil Wayne charts 22 out of 23 Tha Carter V songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
He now ties Drake with a record 22 debuts in a single week.
Wayne just made history by becoming the first artist to debut two songs—"Mona Lisa" and "Don't Cry"— in the Hot 100's top five simultaneously.
Wayne tops the charts again.
Lil Wayne's long-awaited Tha Carter V album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was able to gather 480,000 equivalent album units earned from September 28th to October 4th.
That is the the third-largest week for an album in 2018, behind Drake'sScorpion and Travis Scott's Astroworld.

Even more impressive, however, is the fact that the album collected 433 million streams in a week. That is the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album. (Number one is Scorpion.) When it comes to traditional sales — album sales and downloads — the album moved 141,000 copies.

Tha Carter V is Lil Wayne's fourth solo number one. Wayne's first was 2008's Tha Carter III then I Am Not a Human Being in 2010 followed by Tha Carter IV in 2011.
All these years in the game and Lil Wayne still has it.
