The suit stems from an incident that occurred in 2016.

Joey Badass has reportedly settled a legal battle with Phillip Wilburn, a professional Donald Trump impersonator who accused the rapper of causing him serious injuries during an event in September 2016.

The incident took place during a 2016 MTV event in Los Angeles, where Joey was onstage with a Hillary Clinton impersonator. A video of the incident shows Wilburn joining the two onstage. Upon Joey recognizing who Wilburn is portraying, the rapper flips him off and pushes him offstage. The footage doesn't show what happened to Wilburn afterward.

In a report from The Blast, Wilburn sued Joey for $1.5 million in damages, including $1,000 in medical expenses, $25,000 for a potential surgery, and $50,000 in lost profits.

The rapper had previously denied any wrongdoing and said Wilburn assumed a risk for his alleged injuries when he got onstage with him. Wilburn has appeared on Conan and Jimmy Kimmel Live! impersonating Trump.

Back in January, Joey announced that a new Pro Era album was done and that he was working on visuals for the forthcoming project.

Last year, the Brooklyn rapper also announced that he was starting his own podcast series called 47 Minutes. He described the series as a direct platform to talk about "shit from hip-hop, politics, spirituality and whatever the fuck else I want."
